SPECTACLE GRENADINE 2022-23
for children from 5 years old
Susanna Tiertant & Mandaakhai Daansuren
Long ago in Mongolia lived the princess Tsolmon, in love with a modest shepherd. When he must return home to the remote Gobi desert where his family and his herd await him, Tsolmon gives him a winged horse so that he can travel the thousands of kilometers that separate them each night. They live happily every night for several years – until one winter day when a jealous woman cuts the horse’s wings…
When the classical pianist Susanna meets Mandakh, a virtuoso of the fiddle and diphonic singing, the duo Gobi Rhapsodie is born as a matter of course, and with it a unique and bewitching music, at the crossroads of Mongolian songs and classical and jazz music. Based on the fabulous legend of the morin khuur (horse-headed fiddle), the duo offers us here a crazy and moving story, in the heart of Mongolia.
Mandaakhai Daansuren: morin khuur (Mongolian fiddle), guitar, Jew’s harp, khöömii (diphonic singing), storytelling
Susanna Tiertant: piano, accordion, storytelling
